I am so amazed at all my son's accomplishments in the past six months thanks to his therapists at Full Circle Therapies. His therapist and I have been working hard as a team to achieve his goals.
During his therapy sessions, I go in the room with my son and see what they're working on. Then I go home and practice what we have learned. For example, my son has never drank from the cup or sipped from a straw since birth. He was born with Spina Bifida and vocal cord paralysis. He was unable to drink thin liquids due to aspiration until six months ago when we got the news he could start drinking. His feeding therapist, Claire, tried several different cups and straws during our sessions. She let me take them home to practice with him. Brady is now successful in drinking up to 10 ounces of fluid in less than 30 minutes! He now drinks all his PediaSure in his cup and doesn't have to be on overnight feedings anymore.

Brady couldn't release a ball or throw beanbags in the past. He has been working with his Occupational Therapist, Tamra, to let go of the beanbags and hit the toss across to make the blocks spin. He was also unable to have the fine motor skills and coordination to catch a beach ball or throw a ball in a bucket. Brady is now able to throw 20 out of 20 beanbags playing toss across 2 feet away! He can also catch and hold a beach ball 20 out of 20 times successfully!
During his speech therapy sessions with Brandi, Brady has improved his communication using small sentences with his Proloquo2Go on his iPad. He can answer questions like "What flies in the sky?" Brady responds "an airplane" on his iPad. Being a part of Bradys therapy has taught me the skills to help my son. It's important to practice at home what the therapist are teaching so we can all be on the same page and our children can be successful!!!
